Espressito! Perfect for a warm summer day!

Starting April 27, Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company in St. Helena (1400 Oak Avenue) and Napa (948 Main Street) are offering a new coffee drink to customers. The “Espressito” consists of two shots of espresso over ice, combined with fresh mint which has been muddled with simple syrup and a splash of tonic water. For the week of April 27th, the drink has an introductory price of 3.00; the regular price will be 3.55.

Served in a pint glass with mint leaf decoration!

“We are launching a new summer drink,” explains General Manager Doug Dunlap, “which was inspired by the Mojito. This drink is a perfect summer solution for those who crave a double espresso. Many of our customers enjoy Caramel Blended Frappes with extra whipped cream and caramel sauce, this is a great alternative,” he adds. The Espressito is sophisticated and elegant; it shows off the nuances of the espresso and is uniquely refreshing on a hot summer afternoon (or anytime).

The Roasting Company welcomes Instagram and Facebook discussion and depictions of the Espressito. Until May 11th, we will offer a coupon for your next Espressito on us after posting on Instagram (@NapaValleyCoffee) Twitter (@NVCRC) or Facebook!

Other beverages suited for warm weather are iced versions of favorites including Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino as well as Real Fruit Smoothies featuring a wide variety of flavors such as Mango, Strawberry, Raspberry, Mixed Berry and Strawberry Banana. We also offer blended Frappe with choices of Caramel, White or Dark Chocolate (or both!) and Chai.

Carolyn Love New Manager to head St. Helena Location

CAROLYN LOVE NEW MANAGER AT NAPA VALLEY COFFEE ROASTING CO.

Will head St. Helena store

St. Helena, May 2014----Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company announces that Carolyn Love has been named the new St. Helena Store Manager. “Carolyn’s passion for coffee communicates to the customer,” Doug Dunlap, General Manager says, “so it’s wonderful that she can take on this leadership role in this company,” he adds.

“The first moment I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the coffee industry was the first time a customer approached me after finishing the drink I had made them and told me “that was fantastic,” Carolyn explains. “I had no clue a simple compliment would encourage me so much and could make me so proud of something it takes just about a minute to make. I knew from then that I never wanted to stop hearing that and the motivation to search for that compliment has driven me to pursue further opportunities in an industry I have loved since my first cup. At The Roasting Company we are distinctive because we truly take pride in what we do.  We are careful to hand craft every drink from beginning to end. Our beans are hand-picked, roasted in small batches, ground to order and brewed, all by people who share a passion for fabulous coffee and outstanding customer service. Family owned and operated, we understand how to treat a customer and give them the best we can,” she adds.

Born in Woodland, Carolyn grew up in the Napa Valley, graduated from Napa High School and began her college career at Napa Valley College. She enjoys cooking and baking, whether relying on her grandmother’s pie recipes or experimenting on her own.

In other news, The Napa Valley Roasting Company’s summer hours are: the Napa location is open seven days a week 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.; in St. Helena, hours are 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. seven days a week.

In more news, The Roasting Company is introducing a new drink---a chai frappe. At $5.45, it is a blended sweet and spicy refreshment. When tea leaf meets clove, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger, well, it just works on so many levels. This is also the season for Shakeratos: for the third year The Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company is offering its version of an Italian classic, Cafe Shakerato. A “Shakerato” is freshly pulled espresso shaken with ice, raw sugar and cream, strained into a martini glass.

“We’ve admired this Italian twist on presenting the essence of great coffee in the heat of the summer, and brought it home to Napa Valley,” explains Doug Dunlap, General Manager, Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company. “Presenting coffee this way also lets us show off the complexities of our coffee.” he added.

The Roasting Company first opened its doors in Napa in 1985. It was the first local coffee roasting company of its kind in the Napa Valley, modeled upon European cafes and housed in a landmark Victorian building. In 1991, a second location opened in downtown St. Helena. Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company creates signature blends for Napa Valley’s prestigious restaurants and wineries as well as for businesses outside the Napa Valley.

Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company carries nine single-origin coffees from Indonesia, Africa, and the Americas. Roasting profiles are designed to maximize the flavors each origin brings to the finished cup of coffee. The Roasting Company roasts its coffee in 20 pound batches, ensuring the highest possible quality. Beans are roasted 4 to 6 nights a week for maximum freshness.

Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company has pursued community programs since it opened its doors in 1985, creating proprietary blends for non-profit organizations and charities, as well as donating its coffees extensively to local events and groups such as Napa Fire Department, St. Helena Police Department, Vintage High School, Rianda House, St. Helena Family Center and regularly sends coffee to U.S. military servicemen and women around the world.
